PLANNER, EXPERIENCE + DESIGN

IN-OFFICE POSITION

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the Company.

  • While performing any procedure, all associates must observe applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines. The use of appropriate personal protective equipment is required.

  • Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.

  • Adhere to appropriate company operating procedures, benefit rules, employment, and safety policies/practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for innovative product research and development of service offerings by proactively maintaining and seeking out new vendor contacts and attending industry events and functions.

  • Source creative components to increase unique opportunities and creative, innovative décor elements pending on current trends.

  • Oversee the precision and accuracy of all vendor and proposal tariff content by drafting new write ups, saving pertinent information and maintaining active communication with suppliers in an effort to maximize efficiencies and volume pricing discounts for mutually beneficial relationships.

  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to create custom tailored, compelling and avant-garde client proposals, efficiently maximizing client budget allocation and ROI through the leveraging of local vendor relationships and Destination PROS team experience to bring to life client visions, while adhering to strict RFP deadlines and specifications. 

  • Manage multiple proposal and contract costing by negotiating volume discount vendor rates, estimating internal cost of goods sold/profit and loss analysis and coordinating with accounting, business development and operations to identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings on all event components.

  • Plan and execute client engagement opportunities, such as site inspections, product viewing and experience assessments in coordination with Business Development Manager(s).

  • Communicate with internal teams and client contact to continuously define program details, leading to contract creation and invoice submission.

  • Transition of active client files to Operations department while maintaining an active liaison position as it pertains to the internal chain of command and client communication.

  • Answer phones during the hours of 8:30A-5:00P Monday through Friday as part of a team effort to connect with all incoming callers.

  • Strategic thinking and problem solving by leveraging vendor relationships and team strengths to maximize client experience while upholding provided budget and deadline parameters.

  • Communication both internal and external to maintain all valued partnerships and relationships from both a team, vendor, and client perspective.

  • Team player attitude, receiving constructive criticism easily, collaborating with team members openly and being willing to pivot and strategize quickly and efficiently as needed.


SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING PREFERRED:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience, or a combination thereof.

  • Design background and formal training or related is highly preferred.

  • Professional event design experience a plus, but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer service experience in a corporate or otherwise professional office setting where client interactions via phone, email, video call or in person are a daily occurrence.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience using space planning technology such as CAD or Social Tables a plus.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Equipment and Applications:

    • Computer, phone, copiers and other standard office equipment.
